How manifestation ideas relate to scripture, world religions and older contemplative traditions.

Manifestation teachers have long drawn connections to scripture and older spiritual traditions, particularly ideas about faith, belief, prayer and the nature of consciousness. Some of those connections are well-supported by the original texts; others are a specific modern interpretation layered onto much older material.

The articles here try to hold both things at once: what a tradition's own teachings generally say, and how manifestation writers have interpreted or borrowed from them. They're written for readers of any belief background, including no particular belief at all.

How we approach this

We're not arguing that any religious text "proves" manifestation works, and we try not to flatten a tradition's own theology to make it fit. Where a manifestation interpretation differs from how a faith tradition generally understands its own text, we say so directly.
